International Day of Plant Health Video Contest - 3rd edition of the “Plant Health TV: Research that helps Plant Health”

Following the declaration by the United Nations General Assembly of the International Day of Plant Health (IDPH), every 12th of May, the Plant Health community celebrates the importance of plant health by organizing events to raise awareness and to mobilize international communities.

🌐 About the Contest: On the occasion of the International Day of Plant Health, we are excited to announce the 3rd edition of the “Plant Health TV: Research that helps Plant Health” video contest!

Organized by the Euphresco III network, the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies of Bari (CIHEAM Bari) and the Plant Biosecurity Research Initiative (PBRI) this contest aims to celebrate the importance of plant health and showcase the outstanding work of early career researchers.

The winning video will be broadcast at international events organized for the celebration of the IDPH (e.g., the PBRI Symposium in Cairns, Australia; the ‘Plant Health without borders’ Symposium in Brussel, Belgium).

🏆 Why Participate?

🌍 Scope: Early career researchers (up to 35 years old) are invited to submit a 90-second video on their research related to quarantine pests in their region.

🎁 Prize: The winning video will be showcased at international events and the winner will receive a two-week internship at PBRI-Australia or CIHEAM Bari – Italy, covering transport, board, and lodging expenses.

📹 How to Apply

🔍  Purpose: Increase visibility of plant health research, celebrate early career researchers, and connect global communities.

📅 Important dates:

  • Call launch: 9th February
  • Expression of Interest deadline: 29th February
  • Video Submission deadline: 30th April
  • Winner Announcement: 9th May at the PBRI Symposium in Cairns, Australia.
