From 20th to 22th July 2022, in the frame of SALAM-MED project activities, 16 representatives of a multidisciplinary team of 15 partners from 8 Mediterranean countries participated at CIHEAM Bari to an intense Training on the Living Labs approach in a Mediterranean perspective.
SALAM-MED Project - “Sustainable Approaches to LAnd and water Management in MEditerranean Drylands” - is a Research and Innovation Actions project funded under the PRIMA 2021 Program, that started in April 2022 and will last 3 years. It aims to identify, test and validate tailored, nature-based practical solutions to enhance the resilience of endangered MED dryland socio-ecological systems or to restore degraded ecosystems in arid and hyper-arid lands and to improve the capacity and support decision-makers in the identification of practical solutions for sustainable land and water management in relevant rural districts of MED drylands.
SALAM-MED promotes co-innovation through six Living Labs located in Mediterranean hotspots of soil and water degradation. By involving all relevant stakeholders (particularly women and youth) in the Living Lab processes for the co-creation of knowledge and testing of solutions, SALAM-MED also aims to generate new investment and business opportunities for sustainable land and water management.
