The closing event of the Project GEMAISA2 “Enhancing gender mainstreaming for sustainable rural development and food security actions” will take place on Friday, 15 October 2021, 10.00-13.00 CET.
GEMAISA was carried out by CIHEAM Bari in Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Palestine, and Morocco, with the support of the Italian Cooperation and in partnership with the Ministries of Agriculture of the five Countries.
The workshop has been selected as one of the events in the Sustainable Development Festival, a very prestigious and high-profile initiative promoted by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (https://asvis.it/), which considered GEMAISA worthy of being included especially due to the dialogue and interaction it has promoted on GEWE issues at Mediterranean level.
The initiative falls within the celebration of the International Day of Rural Women, to emphasize, on this meaningful day, the importance of rural women’s participation in the development processes.
Besides the presentation of the project results by CIHEAM Bari core team and national teams, the video-documentary "I am a Farmer, I am a Woman” will be introduced by the film-maker Ernesto Pagano. The video represents a challenging self-storytelling experience of the women beneficiaries and of the national project coordinators during the pandemic period.
