The methodology of learning proposed by MAIB via distance learning courses is based on the model of collaborative learning. 

The collaborative model centres on the participation of each member of a group in collective construction of knowledge achieved via the exchange of text messages in the discussion forums dedicated to each module of the course;

messages are exchanged in asynchronous format according to a projected organizational pattern that scans the weekly progress of the activities.

Students are constantly tracked in their learning process by tutors who mediate/promote communication between students, staff/field experts and course management staff.
