Project Summary

Short description

The project aims to build the necessary pre-conditions to enhance women participation and to promote their role within the cooperation programs in the main sectors related to food security and rural development. This goal is achieved through an interinstitutional public/private platform to protect and increase the role of women in the Mediterranean and Near East mostly in natural resources management and food security through institutional building. Moreover, a specific component is developed in Tunisia through the assessment of strategic potential partnerships for women empowerment with consequent capacity building, dissemination both in National and International scenarios of positive women entrepreneurship experiences in target areas.

Main Results

  • Promoting the creation of a public/private inter institutional platform to protect and boost women’s role in natural resources management and food security in the Mediterranean area and Near East through actions of institutional building and stewardship.
  • Diffusing at national and international level the positive entrepreneurial experiences (in form of best practices) carried out by women in North Africa and Middle East.
  • Assessing potential strategic partnerships to support women empowerment with related capacity building in the frame of the programme Italy-Tunisia.
